The PlasmoGEM (Plasmodium genetic modification) project is based on the translation of restriction-ligation free methodology for production of P. berghei gene targeting vectors with enhanced transfection efficiency (Pfander et al., 2011).
The production of gene disruption vectors with improved transfection efficacy has allowed for scaling up of phenotyping of P. berghei mutants using barcode sequencing technology (Gomes et al., 2015). Blood stage phenotypic data for over 2500 P. berghei is now available pre-publication in the phenotypes section of our website.
All PlasmoGEM tools are free for use in non-commercial applications, but requestors will need to cover shipping costs. Please follow the instructions here to request resources.
If the reagent you would wish to use is not yet available, you can request your favourite genes for prioritisation by emailing plasmogem@sanger.ac.uk.

PlasmoGEM is a not-for-profit, open access research resource funded by the Wellcome Trust and is part of the Malaria Programme at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, UK.
